The VPN service allows users to be identified (based on the IP address of their device) as members accessing the internet from within the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) network.
As a result, they are granted access to services that require an AUTH IP address, such as access to electronic research resources (e-journals and bibliographic databases).

To use the VPN service, you must:

• Have an active institutional user account (university credentials)
• Have any type of internet connection at your current location

ATTENTION:
When using the VPN service, your computer connects to the internet bypassing any protective mechanisms provided by your ISP connection (e.g., ADSL router). You must take appropriate measures to protect your device against network threats, such as enabling a firewall and restricting shared folders and printers to password-protected access only.
