The Zoom application enables the delivery of remote lectures for course needs through a user-friendly environment for synchronous online learning.
Access to the Zoom videoconferencing service as a meeting organizer requires authentication via institutional credentials. This restriction does not apply to participants (e.g., students), who may join meetings without using an institutional user account.
Meeting organizers may fall into the following categories:
* Faculty members, Special Teaching Staff, and Emeritus Professors are automatically assigned a Zoom license allowing unlimited session duration, provided they access the platform via Single Sign-On (SSO) using their institutional user account.
Other categories of teaching personnel must submit a request for license assignment by contacting support@auth.gr. To expedite the processing, requests must include the full Sign-In Email as displayed upon logging in at https://authgr.zoom.us/profile using institutional credentials.
The Digital Governance Unit (DGU) conducts regular audits and retains the right to revoke Zoom licenses in cases where they are no longer utilized by teaching staff or when the users are no longer affiliated with the University.
The Zoom application can be downloaded from the official website at https://zoom.us/download. For comprehensive instructions regarding installation and use, please consult the User Manuals section available on this webpage.
For further information concerning participant capacity and the applicable Zoom license types, please refer to the dedicated page titled Guidelines for Organizing Events via Zoom.
