The Dynamic Website Hosting service allows you to create a personal dynamic website at the address:
http://<username>.webpages.auth.gr

In this specialized environment, you can install dynamic websites and web applications (e.g. Joomla, WordPress, Drupal etc.) using the Parallels Plesk platform.

This service is particularly useful for users who:

• Have knowledge of developing/managing dynamic websites using PHP, as well as experience with managing MySQL databases

• Are familiar with installing and maintaining content management systems (CMS)

Service users are responsible for:

• Ensuring their website operates efficiently and does not overuse system resources (CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth) nor disrupt the performance of other hosted websites.

• Regularly backing up their website content using the backup tools provided by the service, for exporting data to an external location.

• Monitoring security issues and promptly addressing any vulnerabilities in the applications they install and maintain on their hosted site

Applicants should have a clear understanding of the subsequent requirements and be able to describe how they plan to use the dynamic website, what software they intend to install, and whether any programming language or database will be required.

2. You must activate the service through the management interface of your institutional account at https://myaccount.auth.gr

To use the service:

• Visit the institutional account management portal at https://myaccount.auth.gr, and navigate to: Applications > Personal Storage > Personal Dynamic Webpage (webpages). Then, at the bottom of the page, select Request Activation of Your Dynamic Website*.
• Once you are notified that your website has been activated, go to https://webpages.auth.gr and click Login to access the management interface.

* Your request will be reviewed, and you will be notified upon activation of the service.

The ability to use the dynamic website hosting service is granted for as long as your institutional account remains active.
