Storage Space for Computational Tasks on the HPC Infrastructure

Access to storage space for executing computational tasks on the high-performance computing cluster
  • The Digital Governance Unit (DGU) provides each user account that has access to the Aristotelis computing cluster with storage space for input/output files of computational tasks. The available space for each new account is 20GB, which can be increased if necessary by contacting hpc-support@auth.gr.

Additionally, shared access to storage volumes for research groups is supported. If a research group needs access to a common dataset or if the input/output data of certain tasks exceeds several hundred GB, a dedicated storage volume can be created for exclusive use. The DGU can provide, upon request, storage volumes of up to 2TB from the available infrastructure for a limited time.

If larger storage capacity is required, a research group may provide its own disks, which can be integrated into the storage infrastructure.

  • To use the service, you need access to AUTh’s high-performance computing cluster.

  • Access to the AUTH high-performance computing cluster remains active for as long as the Institutional User Account (university ID) is active.

After thirty (30) days from the expiration of the Institutional Account (as stated in the link above), access to the institutional cluster is no longer possible. Therefore, the researcher has this time window to transfer their data to external storage.
